Thanks to funds provided by the Australian Government’s Caring For Our Country scheme, the Shorebirds 2020 program will be running (along with help from local groups) a series of around 25 workshops nationally to introduce the Shorebirds 2020 program, raise awareness of conservation issues facing shorebirds and train volunteers in shorebird identification and monitoring techniques.

Count support funds available
We are able to provide modest funds to support counting efforts in each state and territory. Examples include funding things such as boat hire & fuel costs, extra Shorebirds 2020 training workshops, reimbursement for some of the time coordinators devote to coordinating counts and collating count data, and in special circumstances mileage reimbursement for volunteers.
