Shorebirds.org.au values and respects individuals' rights to privacy and we are committed to protecting the personal information that you provide to us when using our website.
This Online Privacy Statement describes how we treat all user data collected when
you visit the shorebirds.org.au site, both anonymous data and personally-identifying data.

Shorebirds.org.au is hosted on a server in Australia. Accordingly, if you are located outside of Australia, the Personal Data you provide to us will be transferred to Australia. Security
The Personal Data we collect about you is stored on a secure, password protected server. Only authorised personnel have access to your information. Nevertheless, despite our best efforts, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Phishing
What is phishing and pharming?
'Phishing' attacks use fraudulent emails and websites and aim to steal consumers' personal identity data and financial account credentials. The emails and websites mimic legitimate websites, but instead are used to collect personal and financial data such as email addresses and credit cards.

How can I avoid phishing scams
Be suspicious of any email with urgent requests for personal financial information - especially emails that are not personalised (that is emails that don't include your name in the introduction - e.g. "Hi Jane" if your name is Jane). All legitimate shorebirds.org.au emails will be personalised using the information you provided to us.
